Welcome to i-Tree Species!
Select tree species for planting projects based on their potential benefits and geographic region.
How to use it:
Choose your planting location, then select and rank the importance from 0 to 10 of each desired tree benefit.
Species selections will be based on three types of information:
- Hardiness – as determined by state and city.
- Mature height – user specified minimum and maximum heights.
- Environmental factors – ranked from 0 to 10:
- carbon storage, air pollution removal, storm water impacts, building energy conservation, pollen allergenicity, and reductions in air temperature, ultraviolet radiation, and wind.
A ranked list will be created with recommended species suited for local use that maximize tree benefits.
- It will be based on a combination of hardiness, mature height, and desired, potential benefits
- The results can be used as a starting point and adjusted to meet local and cultural needs and limitations.
- To learn more about the methodology, review the Help documentation.
